What we say
Guerneville's popular hangout.
Until Liquid Sky opened up across the street, this was the main hangout for all gay visitors to the River. Even with the competition, the crowds still do come here for a drink and some company. Be sure to stop here on your barhopping rounds and you'll find a welcoming place with pool table, video poker, a live dj, and friendly bartenders.

The Rainbow Cattle Company has a special drink called a rootbeer float, similar to a long island ice tea in that they are both concoctions of different spirits. Both are served in ginormous mason jars (quart size, I believe) for a steal at only $8. The rootbeer float really does taste like the non-alcoholic namesake, but a caution for those who are lactose-intolerant: it does include cream. It has a smooth taste, and hardly seems like it includes any booze, but be careful: it packs a wallop and one drink will do you all afternoon. Fortunately, our bartender wisely asked us which of us was the designated driver. He stuck to club soda with a splash of cranberry.

How nice to go someplace and just walk in and be yourself! Very friendly, very comforting, and we met lots of locals who were so friendly!

The oldest gay bar in Guerneville, this is a spacious, friendly space with great Happy Hour specials and Long Island Iced Teas served in Mason jars (sip them slowly). Play pool, pinball or shuffleboard, hang out in the smoking patio, and unless I've been there recently you may stand a chance to score at the Entertainment Trivia game.
