Dawn Ranch Lodge

I stayed here once when it was Fife's and brunched here many times back then, and I really do miss the gay crowds. But now that it's Dawn Ranch Lodge and is catering to straights and weddings, it's still a nice place for a quiet cabin away from the parties at RRR and elsewhere. We thought it would be nice to go out elsewhere and then have a quiet place to come home to, and never felt intimidated or discouraged by the staff. I hesitate to reveal what I hoped would be our little secret, so don't tell anyone that cabin 302 is an amazingly comfortable, secluded hideaway for ~4 people.

The new management has forsaken the gay clientele that was once Fife's, in hopes of attracting a straight crowd for weddings, etc. But the breakfast / brunch menu is quite gourmet.

I have been to Fifes, and it was a great place; when it was lesbian. Why is it that a lesbian owned and operated resort turned "straight?" Perhaps the former owners were pressured by outside influences! Why is it that lesbians are harrassed by conservatives so much.....feel threatened? Don't see this kind of pressure put to men! We used to have a great newd beach, removed from everyone; a lesbian beach. But, alas, word got out; men started showing up and harrassing the girls. Now that place no longer exists. Women will never have their place under the sun, men will come along and destroy it....like they always do!!

This resort was one time fun. However it went straight and they do everything possible to make gays feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. It's too bad - hope it flops and goes back to being a gay resort.
