Area not what it used to be

The gay community doesn't pack Guerneville as it once did and people have to make a buck. I guess my beef is that the hot tub is 'patrolled' frequently. Perhaps the city is behind this. (notice that the hot tub at R3 has been removed because the city made it so difficult for the new owners to have one). I miss that sexual energy. Despite all of this Highlands is a nice place to stay. I do like the clothing optional pool. The owners are doing the best they can. I've heard they are looking to sell it.

You can be naked if you want, but no bar

This is a quiet, secluded, clothing-optional gay resort with a pool. But some of us could use a cocktail! A bit of a walk to town and the gay hot spots.

Rural and woodsy

The resort offers private cabins with bath, kitchenette, and sitting area. They are clean and well maintained. The amenities are good (clothing-optional pool, hot tub, homemade breakfast muffins) but no wifi and spotty cell coverage. It is located on a hill above Guerneville, about a 5 minute walk down a steep hill. The place was nice but it is unlikely we would be back. The whole area was more of a rural experience then we like. But if you are a bear in the woods, go for it.
